Fangs Circuit

In our option that no one asked for, we believe that the Fangs Circuit is possibly the most scenic hike in Drakensberg. Yes that is quite a big claim but once you experience the hike for yourself you will see why. Every year we take landscape photographers from across the globe on this hike to photograph the main attraction known as Madonna and Her Worshippers. Check them out for yourself below.

Our meeting location for this hike is at Mnweni Cultural and Hiking Centre and 10am on February 2nd. From here we will catch a shuttle to the starting point of the hike. In total the hike covers just under 50km of hiking over a 4 day period with 2500m of vertical ascent.

Fangs Pass and Madonna Pass are our two options for ascending to the escarpment. Both are rated as 7/10 passes, thus we have rated this hike as difficult and it should only be attempted by seasoned hikers.

The cost for this hike is R3,900 per person and includes:

• qualified mountain guide and wilderness first responder
• dinners, breakfasts and hot drinks on the mountain which our team will prepare
• equipment including 4 season tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, backpacks and eating utensils
• hiking permits and shuttle from Mnweni  cultural centre to trail head.
