2 Day Cathedral Peak Hike

Challenge yourself on this 2 day hike to the summit of Cathedral Peak at 3,004m. One of the highest free standing peaks in the Drakensberg that can be climbed without any technical expertise.

The total distance is 21km over the 2 days wiith 1 night spent camping in the mountains. Hikers would need to be able to hike while carrying their backpacks. The hike is not recommended for hikers who are not fit.

The hike can be done in a day however you are missing out on a few key elements which include:

• sunrise (best part in our option)
• sunset (also a goody)
• stargazing.

How much more convincing do you need? Well how about the fact that this is a fully catered hike? Yes that’s right. We handle everything from food or equipment so you don’t have to worry about a thing. The cost is R2,600 per person and includes:

qualified mountain guide and wilderness first responder

dinner, breakfast and hot drinks on the mountain

equipment including 4 season tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, backpacks and eating utensils

hiking permits and park fees

professional photographs from the hike (weather permitting).
