Unique and interactive safari day tours Johannesburg
Join our safari day tours Johannesburg and experience a true African wildlife adventure. The most popular tour is to the Pilanesberg, home of the Big 5
Our full day safari tour comprises a 2 game drives in open air game vehicles in the world famous Pilanesberg National Park. Only two hour’s drive from Johannesburg, the Pilanesberg is home to one of the largest game concentrations in the North West. Types of game to be seen include the Big 5 ( lion, buffalo, rhino, elephant and leopard) as well as an abundance of zebra, impala, giraffe many other antelope and bird species. The safari day tour departs daily from your hotel in Johannesburg where guests are transferred by road for 90km to the gates of the park where their safari adventure begins.
Our tours can be done all year round. The summer months from October to March are the rainy seasons with most of the rain falling in sudden afternoon thunderstorms. A pleasant relief sometimes form the African heat. Animals also seem to come alive in the rain, so not all bad. The winter months from May to August can get a tad cold in the mornings but the day times are usually relatively warm. Because there is no rain the terrain is pretty dry. Also a good time to view animals on the safari day tour.
Our guides have an absolute passion for wildlife and the Pilanesberg and many of our guides and founding members have been visiting the many game reserves since they were toddlers. We have spent thousands of hours observing the many animals and unique fauna and flora of the African bush.. In fact over the past 10 years we have guided over 200 day tours to the Pilanesberg from Johannesburg alone
Our policy on environmentalism and responsible tourism
One of the most incredible aspects of South African game reserves like the Pilanesberg is that they are still managed in way that allows nature to just be. The reserves are green and 100% natural. As a South African we are proud to be able to take our guests into these amazing natural safaris and we are grateful that we are in a position to be able to take travellers from all over the world on our safari day tours Johannesburg. We look forward to sharing a story or 20 about the animal sand safari experiences as well as the people of the area and how the animals have adapted to survive in the African bush.
Besides showing you the incredible diversity of animal son our safari day tours from Johannesburg, we are also very strict on conserving our wildlife and the environment for future generations come.
One of the unique experiences on our Pilanesberg trips is having lunch in one of the hides next to a watering hole. As you will see in the video, we were fortunate enough to be joined by a family of 30 elephants while we were having lunch. The elephants were playing and swimming in front of us for about an hour.
How do we do that? We are committed to ensuring sustainable travel practices
We have been actively involved in safari day tours Johannesburg since 2008. Our environmental policy on our tours is to leave a ‘low impact’ natural footprint. We keep our groups small which allows us the opportunity to present a more intimate and unique experience that allows us to not only control the group but take them into areas large groups would not be able to access. groups have been kept small allowing us operate in unique areas of the game reserve.
