Our Pilanesberg day trips will introduce you to the 55 000 hectares (132 000 acres) of the prestige Pilanesberg National Park which boasts  some 10 000 animals. There used to be 10002. What happened was that 2 elephants had a fight with the game ranger over wages so decided to leave for the Kruger where the pay was more. The park is now one of the privileged reserves hosting the Big Five and 364 species of bird. WAIT!!!! I might be wrong. I ate  a toasted chicken sandwich the last time I was there, so make that 363 species of bird.

Why choose us Soul Adventures for your day tour you may be wondering?

Certificate of Excellence

We are consistently winning the Certificate of Excellence award from Trip Advisor for based on superior service levels as well as the quality of our tours. Nothing worse than getting a bad review on this site. Well, there are worse things like being attacked by a pack of hungry penguins with machine guns, but you know what I mean. Yip, the site keeps us on our toes. If we don’t get a rating of excellent for one of our day tours, our staff have to do 400 push ups in a pit of snakes. Having said that, don’t take our word for it. Feel free to read up on our recent reviews

Free Pick Up

Our tours include a free pick up service from any hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria.

Pay on the day

Our payment options are pretty simple. We don’t expect a deposit. You can pay us on the day of the tour. And we accept credit card payment or cash. Unfortunately we don’t accept small grains of exotic sand as payment.

No Hidden Costs

There are no hidden costs. We are not into playing hide ‘n seek anymore. What you see is what you pay for. Our pricing is all inclusive. Homemade lunches that are made with love are included in all our Pilanesberg day tours from Johannesburg. We provide bottled water and if you behave maybe a beer or two.

Tips and Gratuities?

Although your generosity would be highly appreciated, the team at Soul Adventures have all decided that if you feel the need to give a tip we would rather you donate it to a cause that is close to our hearts. The LIV Village Orphanage.

How we Roll?

We don’t do big airconditioned buses and vans. Nope we like to keep our experiences authentic and offer you a truly interactive day. On our Pilanesberg safari tours for example you will get to experience the character of our usually mud strewn 1990 Landrover Defender that is part of the Soul Adventures family

Travel Like a Local

All of our guides have a passion for what they do. They have been selected for their fun personalities and expert knowledge of the various destinations. An yes we have also have a weird sense of humor. We try and contain ourselves if we can. But ultimately we want you to too experience our wonderful country in a fun and interactive way. We have an intimate knowledge of our destinations. We get it. We have been in the travel business for over 10 years. We know what our clients want. We offer a more authentic tour that is not ‘run of the mill’ stuff. We want you to experience a day tour as a local would.

Small Groups

We keep our tours relatively small. We believe this is the best way to offer a truly intimate and unique experience.

Language options on our day tours to the Pilanesberg

Ok, so this where this statement might get a bit confusing. Not sure why we are even mentioning this as our non English clients would not exactly be reading this if they could not speak English, which means they will never know that we have a variety of linguistically talented guides at our disposal on our tours.

All of our Pilanesberg Day Trips involve animal viewing from an open game vehicle which is driven by a qualified game specialist.

These guys are really passionate about what they do and are eager to share their wealth of animal knowledge on the trips. We also like to keep our Pilanesberg Day trips pretty intimate in terms of the number of clients we take. Although we can cater for 50 people at a time, we also specialise in groups of 2 to 7. Makes for a better game viewing experience.

The Pilanesberg is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. Only one of three alkaline ring volcano’s in the world and ancient, even by geological time scales, this extinct volcano is the most perfect example of an alkaline ring complex. Its rare rock types and structure make it a unique geological feature.

Pilanesberg-Home to the Big 5

Home to the big five (Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard) as well as many antelope species. The Pilanesberg is also a bird watchers paradise. A road network of over 200 kms leads the tourist through spectacular rolling hills set around the former volcanic crater, now a lake.

Pilanesberg-Home to the Ugly 5

Ok, so our Pilanesberg day trip is all about the Big 5. or is it. Spare a thought for the Ugly 5 that can also be found in thee Pilanesberg. These animals are so ugly, not even the tide would wash them in. Because of that, they were transported into the Pilanesberg in specially made containers do as to not alarm the game rangers. A typical scenario on our Pilanesberg Day Trips

We came to what seemed to be a traffic jam in the middle of the Pilanesberg! We were confused about all the fuss at first because we couldn’t see any animals around that people may be stopping to look at. Solomzi our driver decided to drive to the front of the traffic along the side of the road and only then did we discover what everyone was waiting around for. A herd of 10+ elephants ran across the road at quite a speed! What an incredible sighting that was! All of the guests were left in awe and maybe even a bit frightened by the incredible display of these magnificent animals.READ MORE….

What to expect on the Pilanesberg Day trips

We offer various options in terms of our Pilanesberg Day trips. They have been designed to accommodate your requirements and time constraints. Some of our guests prefer to spend the night in the Pilanesberg. This is pretty cool as you get to experience a night game drive. We also like to get a big camp fire going. Nothing better than sipping a good red wine around a roaring camp fire while discussing life, the animals that were seen and the chances of small blue dots taking over the world. We also like to do things a tad different as well. We preffer to have lunch in one of the hides next to a watering hole instead of using the restaurant.

What happens if you litter on our Pilanesberg Day trips you may be wondering

Well, that’s liable to earn you a Pilanesberg-roundhouse-sphincter-kick with a follow up of the three fingered eye-jab. Would it hurt? Hell yes!!Let’s just say that you won’t be the prettiest person at a Justin Bieber concert anymore….it’s also quite difficult to pick up your teeth with broken fingers.
